Class Description:
Technology doesn't just happen on a screen, it can be touched, programmed, and used to physically interact with the world around us. In this class, students will learn to program micro:bits to accomplish different challenges and then compete with each other to see their ideas come to life in the physical world through the micro:bit.
Week 1: What is a micro:bit?
Introduction to Microsoft MakeCode
(block-based programming)
Week 2: Mini-challenges
What can you make the micro:bit do?
(sounds, lights, compass directions...)
Week 3: Controlling a mini-vehicle
Programming a path through a maze.
(using Maqueen by DFRobot)
Week 4: The Maze Challenge
Can you meet the challenge?
Grade: 2nd - 5th
